Keyword: A Spider's Thread, is an exciting new game about a Detective. It is developed by City From Naught.
I was tasked with creating the interior architectural assets as you see here, such as the doors, baseboards, ceilings and walling, and other misc frames. Texturewise, I textured everything I made, but specifically also made architecture reusable textures such as the flooring, walling, and the trimsheet that you will notice throughout the game. I isolated most pieces I was able to make to showcase at the end.
When it comes to art direction, we went with a "discomfort" aesthetic, where the player will feel a little claustrophobic or uncomfortable while playing in the level. This is achieved through using color theory, where instead of each object standing out, they become faded unless close up, as it's bleeding in the background. With this in mind, I was able to make the wooden flooring appear completely dusted, with any sign of it being smooth being faded out, it may not be realistic, but it's the message that counts!
Keyword is set in a futuristic Toronto and this interior environment is the protagonist Chenguo's home.
The other assets in the living room (mainly sofas, and small tables, lamps, and some select props) are done by Ryan Sizemore and BD.
